How many work hours are in a year?
A standard full-time year in the US is 2,080 hours: 40 hours a week across 52 weeks. That figure ignores holidays and leave. Subtracting 11 public holidays and 10 days of leave brings a realistic year closer to 1,912 hours. The exact number of weekdays changes annually, between 260 and 262.
How many work hours are in a month?
Between 160 and 184, depending on the month, because months hold 20 to 23 weekdays. The average is about 173.33 hours, which is 2,080 divided by 12, and that average is what monthly salary conversions normally use.
How do you calculate working days between two dates?
Count every day in the range, then remove Saturdays and Sundays, then subtract public holidays. This calculator does the first two automatically and leaves holidays as an input, because public holidays differ by country and by state.
Does this include weekends?
No. Saturdays and Sundays are excluded from the working day count. If you work a different pattern, adjust the hours per day figure to give the weekly total you actually work.
